Hey, you lucky reader--you came at the right time! Baby #6 is on her way and I'm interested in your girl name suggestions. The rules are simple, should you choose to participate:
1. I have to personally know you. Since this is not a private blog, anyone can read it, even strangers (eek). So, if I don't know you--sorry--it's a no go!
2. One entry per person. Leave your suggestion in the comments.
3. Entries should not start with the letters: A, E, G, K, or R. I'm trying to give all my kids different initials. However, if you really think I'd love a name starting with one of those letters listed above than you may list it...
4. If at all possible, please list not only the name, but also it's origin and meaning.
**Contest stays open 'til she's born--some time in February, most likely. I will pick my favorite submission at that time.
***The winner will receive this 1 pound box of See's Gold Fancy chocolates and quite possibly the honor of having named my child. I'll for sure pick my favorite name--just no guarantee that I'll use it. You know, I'm the mom--I can do that sort of thing, 'cause I'm the mom :).

I vote is for LENORA.
sure it is my middle name but I've never met anyone with it. I think it is such a beautiful unique name. opposed to a weird unique name...
it makes a great middle name too ;)
Origin: From Greek Ειρηνη (Eirene), derived from a word meaning "peace". This was the name of the Greek goddess who personified peace, one of the ‘Ωραι (Horai). It was also borne by several early Christian saints. The name was common in the Byzantine Empire, notably being borne by an 8th-century empress, who was the first woman to lead the empire.
I can't resist this opportunity to add a suggestion for "Felicity". It, of course, means happiness. And somehow I love the idea of Felicity Irene Bliss (even if the initials would be FBI on all the baby's goods).
Did you know that Bliss is considered a girl's name too? But that would be silly...Bliss Bliss =)
Good luck with the naming - whatever you choose will be perfect and right!
So, my next thought was "Cambria". It doesn't mean anything other than from Wales, but I thought it was cute anyway!!!
Cadence (or any other variation of that name, in fact if you go with the pronunciation but not the spelling, I'll settle for half of the See's chocolates)
Meaning: Latin origin meaning "with rhythm".
Clara
Meaning- clear, bright, famous
and
Jane
Meaning- God is gracious
Let's see. Always liked my friend's name Serene. She could be Serene Bliss! But if you didn't like Autumn Bliss, you probably won't want that either.
OK. How about Telula? She'd already have a song! No?
All right. One more try. I'll give you one of my favorites, since I don't think I'm going to get to use it: Valancy. (pronounced Vuh-lance-ee, with emphasis on second syllable). I don't think it has a meaning. She's a character from one of my all-time favorite books "The Blue Castle." Never thought I'd grow up to have so much in common with her. :-)
And I think I'm out on this contest because 1- we're not sure we're done so I don't want to give you any names that we like. Sorry. And 2- I don't really like chocolate. Haha! Good luck, though!
My vote is for: JACQUELINE
American Meaning:
The name Jacqueline is an American baby name. In American the meaning of the name Jacqueline is: Supplanter. He grasps the heel. French form of Jacob.Supplanter. Introduced into Britain in the 13th century.
Harlow, (english) meaning from the mound of the people.... HA! Not a very convincing definition but I like the name anyhow!!!!
I love this idea. I think I might have to do the same thing in a few months.
Lily = a flower, symbol of purity. also English, form of Lillian meaning consecrated to God.
I'll forfeit my right to win by breaking your rule of one name only:
Camille (Latin, virginal, unblemished character)
Cecilia/Celia (latin, The blind one, or the SIXTH -:)
Charlotte (womanly, full grown)
Juliana/Julianna (Latin, soft-haired, youthful, favored of God. from Hebrew name Hannah)
Lucy ("light")
Mischa/Misha (like the Lord, feminine form of Michael)
Susannah (Hebrew, A lily. Original biblical form of Susan).
Sydney (Old English, from the riverside meadow).
