Your input is needed....

I've been married for almost 12 years. We, as a couple, have survived (actually thrived) over this time period, but one wedding gift we received--a gigantic supply of Rubbermaid food containers--is coming to the end of its plastic rope. I'm pretty good about only washing them on the top rack of the dishwasher; I just don't think they were meant to go on forever. *Sigh* So, please do a "good deed" today and post your plasticware recommendation to me (and many of you know that I save leftover food and *gasp* we eat all them leftovers!) Thanks!!

We use gladware... disposable/recyclable. I don't worry if they get lost at work or forgotten at parties. I like the ones with the interlocking lids for storage purposes.

We use rubbermaid brand as well. we got them from costco in a large pack. i LOVE them because they are tight and because i can use a dry erase marker on the lids (because they are just clear with the gray trim around them) to write the date and them wipe it off before i wash it. it's a great system!

We use the cheap throw away kind now. Costco has Glad or Ziplock. It is nice that I don't worry too much about losing/ruining them, and they stack really well.

Over the last couple of months Jeff has been complaining about our plastic food containers. So, Santa this year(who was tired of hearing the griping) brought him a 20 piece sampler set of Rubbermaid containers. In it are 4 types of Rubbermaid. While I can't tell you which ones we like yet, but they were nice to get.

We love the Rubbermaid flex & seal containers we got at Costco a year or two ago. We'd like to replace all our random other containers with this style. The lids snap together to store, the containers are stain-resistant, and the set comes with a good range of sizes for our family's leftovers. =) http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?Prod_ID=RP091260&CatName=FoodStorage Good luck with your container shopping!

I don't get special ones but I think costco is a great place if you want a set for a good price. Ours keep disappearing.

Uh. I like the cheapo Gladware. And Tupperware is good. Not that I've had anything for 12 years to test durability, but our family's tupperware lasted quite some time. I was an inheriter and loved them--until I had to downsize.

We have Rubbermaid Premier. Great lids and it has the Stain Shield technology (prevents the spaghetti sauce stains). Used in microwave, freezer and dishwasher. We've only had them 4 years, so I'm not sure if they will beat the 12 year life of your old ones, but no complaints and they still look good.

You're so funny. I always said we need a reception every six years of marriage to renew kitchen wares and towels. Good luck. I just buy stuff at Target and I never look at the brand.

I have been a Tupperware fanatic for ever. I have Tupperware that I will never use but refuse to get rid of it because...it is MY Tupperware. I have had some of it since we got married and the rest since about 1990 and it is all still in great shape. I do have some of the disposable Glad or Ziplock in the smaller sizes because I can't bare to lose my precious good stuff in a lunch bag.
