A shoulder to cry on...

Almost every afternoon I have to wake up my youngest, from his nap, in order to pick up his siblings from school on time. Aren't children just precious when they are asleep? I love to look at him in his angelic slumber, all relaxed with a hint of the little baby he once was. I tried, the other day, as I have so many times, to lift him gently and carry him to the car or stroller, hoping that he would keep snoozing in peace. But, imagine the anguish of leaving your nice, soft pillow only to have it replaced with a bumpy stone, a.k.a., my shoulder. It never works. Not to mention, my hair is usually in his face. Poor kid!

All my kids! None of them ever had a nice, soft shoulder to lay on. While I've always thought they were kind of attractive, my collar bones protrude at my neckline, as well as where they attach at the shoulders. This creates an extra hard bump. When they were babies, I was rarely able to get any of my kids to sleep on my shoulder at church. I don't have a chest, so there was no cushion there either. My poor children!

So, if you ever need a shoulder to cry on--mine is the one! But, it's probably my shoulder that'll make you cry...

I'd take the bumps to be as in shape as you are. I'm sure you make it up to your kids in other ways!LOL!

Ha ha ha. I never thought to look at my fatty layers as being comfortable to cry on! :-)

I have to wake up my baby lots of mornings to get #2 to preschool. And then #3 often falls asleep in the car on the way home and I have to try to carry him in without waking him. I probably have a 5% success rate at that. I HATE waking kids up. They look so angelic asleep.
